EVENT: Minnesota Talent Leaders - Spring Leaders Edition
"Hey Minnesota Talent Leaders, Join Us for an Unmissable Event!"
I appreciate you all being patient with me in getting this content out to you. I am going to be really vulnerable right now, and I hope you receive it the way it is intended.
For the past week, and why this might feel late getting out to you, I have created 15-20 different landing pages and marketing pitches for why you should attend this half-day conference. I’ve asked friends, taken walks to clear my brain, and tried I don’t know how many AI prompts, and I can’t get it right.
I now know why.
I am too close to this; I freaking adore, personally and professionally, these amazing humans who all, without hesitation, said yes when I asked them to speak at this event. They are wicked smart, humble, and have the best hearts.
They are the ones I would clear a half day of my calendar for.
Their reputations, experiences, and knowledge don’t need some marketing BS crap that says this is going to be “epic”, “on fire”, or “+100”
Is it going to be all those things? Yes.
Are we going to be “inspired, informed, and empowered?” Absolutely.
In describing who is going to be attending, you all, I almost used “startup heroes to Fortune 500 champions.” What the (BLEEP) I was thinking?
Should you attend? Yes, and I say this without hesitation.
That’s my “pitch,” and yes, I did keep the “headline” because I needed one :)
NEW: #TalentMN is the hashtag we are now using for Minnesota Talent Leaders

Cultivating a Human-Centered Work Culture
Nancy Lyons is the CEO and co-founder of Clockwork here in Minneapolis, an international speaker, an Amazon bestseller with Work Like a Boss: A kick-in-the-pants Guide to Finding (and Using) your Power at Work (2020), and has received awards with titles like Most Admired CEO, 100 People to Know, and Business Owner of the Year.
I have been a long-time fan of Nancy and her work and appreciate our conversations about building teams, company culture, and people. I am thrilled that she will give her message to a room of people leaders.
Kick in the pants? We need it.
Break – 15 minutes
Open Mic
For those who don’t know Gerry Crispin, his many highlights include leading CareerXroads into its third decade as a member-driven community of Talent leadership teams from 100+ employers, a leader in the effort to create what is now known as the ATAP - Association of Talent Acquisition Professionals for Talent Acquisition Professionals, co-authoring eight books on the evolution of staffing, and writing hundreds of articles and whitepapers on similar topics.
On a personal level, he has one of the kindest souls and is a gem of a human. His impact on me and so many others is immeasurable.
In HR and TA circles if you say, “I saw Gerry speak/write about (whatever)” most people know who is being spoken of.
I am intentionally leaving this as an “open mic” and may just want to see how the session plays out.
Break – 30 minutes
Leadership Panel

Jodi Hill is the VP of Talent Acquisition at Evolent Health (NYSE:EVH). She has held multiple senior roles, including Director of Talent Acquisition at SPS Commerce (NASD:SPSC). She has also spoken at several events, including Talent42.
During the discussion, I will delve into their experiences over the past 4.5 years, including the transition to remote work during COVID-19, their insights on the “Great Resignation,” and their thoughts on the current economy. We will also explore their current and future strategies, followed by an engaging audience Q&A session. That’s you. I want you to ask questions.
